In my own words:

I’m a mother, a wife and a damn good friend. I’m also a photographer that specializes in weddings, boudoir, portraiture, and commercial + brand work. We’ve got 100 years of this life to live if we’re lucky, and I think we should all be making the best of it. What better way to prove we were here and that we made a difference than photography. Our stories and our photographs are what we’ll leave behind and because of that, I take my job very seriously.. yet, prefer the chaos and un-serious-ness (if that’s a word) in portraiture. Ya’ll don’t want to remember when you all smiled perfectly at the camera.. you want to remember what REAL happy looked like on your face when you laughed uncontrollably.

I’m here to make life long clients. I want to know how you and your fiancé (or spouse) met. I want to hear about your job and how cool your best friend is. I want to know your dogs name and what grade your kiddos are in. The more I learn about you, the more passion I see behind your smile, the more I understand your driving forces.. the better my imagery is. I’m not here to just make a pretty photo - anyone can do that. When you look through your gallery, or when you walk by the giant print of your kids on your wall, I want you to remember that moment and remember yourself in it and how you felt. I want my photographs to serve like the tree’s growth rings so you’re able to relive every bit of growth you’ve had in your happiness and every inch of the beautiful in between.

Photography IS personal. Its hard to keep life and business separate when my business literally relies on being vulnerable and sharing such important moments in others lives. Since my goal is get inside your bubble, I’ll let you inside mine, too. It’s only fair.

I take pride in being different in the work I create and different in the experience I provide. So many people are throwing terms around about the style photographers work in.. dark and moody, bright and airy, true-to-life. I’ve never been able to really answer that question because I float somewhere in between. Instead, I always say that my style of work is less based on an aesthetic and more focused on moments and love. When you browse your images I want you to remember how you felt during them, not just what you wore or what you looked like. I’m emotional, sappy, and excitable and want my imagery to create that kind of presence for my clients (and friends).

I love people. Everyone is welcome here. I have created this space to be all inclusive of every mind, every body, and every love. I’m a good mix of an extrovert + introvert and love making new friends wherever I go. I love giving smiles away and think small things like showing kindness can change someone’s world. I look for the silver lining in all situations and prefer to spread positivity around at every opportunity. I live in a farm house in the middle of nowhere with my big blended family.. My amazing husband, our 5 children, a dog named Stormy, a tortoise named Daisy and a coop full of hens. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2008, the year I had my first child. My background is in finance but left the 9-5 for good in 2018 to better serve my creative spirit. In April 2022 I opened up Studio Owosso (which I open up to the community often and allow other photographers and creatives to rent it to create art in) and have loved every second of getting to know the creatives that surround me. I love exploring, traveling and road trips with my family. I love the sunset out my kitchen window. Music is my therapy (as well as punk and ska shows). I love markets, shopping handmade, thrift stores, reading + writing poetry. Nothing makes me happier than hearing my kids laugh. Forever obsessed with hand lettering and typography. Horror movies and Halloween all year round, please. I will always prefer the acoustic versions of songs and always buy way too many office supplies even though I don’t really need or have the space for them.

Everyone is so beautifully different. No story is ever the same. All stories and love are welcome here. I’m a giant supporter of the LGBTQ community. I believe every body is a boudoir body. Perfection is boring and our differences are what makes the world a beautiful place.
